Hello, everybody! I ended my last blog with an unanswered question:  “Would the fun of writing turn itself into a job?”  I think I’ve decided that it wouldn’t be such a bad thing.  Not if I love my job…

My blog is built using WordPress.  That used to be just a blogging software, but it has become more of a generalized web site builder.  Recently, I’ve been working on a couple of sites using WordPress, along with taking some online classes to learn more about it.

The best teacher I’ve found so far is at 1WD.tv.  One of the first courses I took from them gave me the tools to be able to build WordPress web sites that take someone who is giving on-site lessons and allows them to transition to online video lessons.  Just think of someone who is teaching (in their shop) yoga, dance, cooking, quilting etc. etc. etc….

Now think of how much they can increase their income by opening their class lessons to the internet.  By simply converting their teaching style to a video-based format, they can use a web site to bring in customers from virtually anywhere!

This feels like a good product to be able to offer my customers.  I just need to find out how to get it out there.  I know I don’t have the readership here to get it off the ground, but I’ve got to start somewhere.  I’m wondering if my best idea might be to add it to my Netpalouse web site – a few geek videos to show people what can be done…

I might not attract any customers to my lessons, but at least it would let me get comfortable with the software.  And it would give me something to show people who might be interested in that kind of web site.  Yeah, that’s the ticket…
